The pro-vice chancellor of the University, Dr. Michael Witby, and members of the teaching staff of the University received His Excellency where he delivered a speech on the topic: “The Challenges of the EU enlargement – a view from one of the newest member states.”

Embassy of Romania-London/ On 13th of January 2010, the Ambassador of Romania, Dr Ion Jinga visited the prestigious British Library holding a collection of over 150 millions works (books, manuscripts, magazines, articles), know as the biggest library in the world. Among its famous works which were presented to the Ambassador of Romania by the library’s officials are: the Manuscripts of The Lindisfarnes Gospels, the Buddhist text “Diamond Sutra” – considered the first book ever printed, Gutenberg’s Bible, first ever printed book in Europe, the 1215 Magna Carta Libertatum, a notebook of Leonardo da Vinci, a 1623 manuscript of Shakespeare, and his first ever printed edition, “First Folio”.
